Logan County Abstract Company

Logan County Abstract Company (LCA) is located in the historic town of Guthrie, Oklahoma, which had its beginnings during the Oklahoma Land Run of 1889.  The Land Run started at high noon on April 22, 1889, with an estimated 50,000 people lined up for their piece of the available 2,000,000 acres.  By the end of that day, Guthrie had established a city of around 10,000 people in literally half a day.

As Harper’s Weekly put it,  “Unlike Rome, the City of Guthrie was built in a day.  To be strictly accurate in the matter, it might be said that it was built in an afternoon.  At twelve o’clock on Monday, April 22d [sic], the resident population of Guthrie was nothing; before sundown it was at least ten thousand.  In that time, streets had been laid out, town lots staked off, and steps taken toward the formation of a municipal government.”

On May 2, 1890, the Organic Act was passed creating the Oklahoma Territory and Guthrie was designated as the territory’s capital. Today, LCA provides full-service statewide escrow and closing services, as well as abstracting services for Logan County.  With the backing of the American Eagle Title Group, LCA employees are able to provide expert title services and solutions while maintaining its dedication to personal relationships and quality service.  From sovereignty to sundown, LCA has the only complete set of records for this historical town and county.
